NonProfitPRO recently featured Version2, Givzey’s AI R&D lab, which is at the forefront of developing a fully autonomous fundraiser (AF). In a significant advancement, Version2 announced the next evolution of its technology—a memory system that allows its Virtual Engagement Officer (VEO) to answer donor-specific questions about their recent and lifetime giving.

Through direct access to an organization's donor database, the VEO can now provide detailed responses to donor inquiries about their giving history, offering a level of transparency and engagement never seen before in fundraising.

“This evolution redefines the relationship between donors and the organizations they care about,” says Adam Martel, CEO of Givzey and Version2. “It empowers donors to make informed decisions about their support, transforming how they interact with nonprofits.”

Version2’s VEO integrates directly with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT, enabling it to answer donor questions about past and lifetime contributions, something previously only accessible to human fundraisers. This breakthrough merges human-like service with scalable AI engagement, providing a donor experience that reimagines fundraising.

Dan Frezza, CEO of the College of Charleston Foundation, highlighted the impact of this innovation: “Providing our Virtual Engagement Officer with direct access to Raiser’s Edge NXT enables us to offer a revolutionary donor-centric experience that reshapes the way we think about AI in fundraising.”

Version2’s proprietary Fundraising Neural Networks and Algorithms (FNA) empower the VEO to manage 1,000 donor portfolios, engage in meaningful ways, and directly secure gifts. It even generates robotically hand-written notes and stewardship messages, ensuring donors receive consistent, high-touch engagement regardless of their gift size.

As Version2 continues to evolve, the team is already working on integrating with additional fundraising platforms to further enhance the autonomous fundraiser’s capabilities, making it a must-follow development for those interested in the future of fundraising technology.
